Well we have entered into another year and I am quite sure that many of us have resolved to do better than we did last year. The New Year will obviously bring in new challenges. I think of the school kids starting a new grade or form. New subjects, new teachers, new everything. I believe that with all these changes taking place we must never lose sight of our purpose in life as Christians.This year I would like to begin by challenging us all to manage our time around the will and plan of God for our lives. Ephesians 5:15 - 16 says ‘‘See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise but understand what the will of the Lord is.’’Make sure that you take time to evaluate your time management. The enemy can fool us into making bad use of our time, making us less effective for the kingdom of God.That’s why it is important to put a value to our activities and tasks. To do this I suggest you begin by the following

• Set out your goals for the week, month or year
• Value each goal defining those which are most important
• Prioritize your goals based on their importance (Value)
• Schedule your week. Month or year devoting more time to tasks and activities which are most important and beneficial(valuable)

This will help you identify where you should be spending most of your time and it will also help you to see what activities will benefit you the most. So remember to be wise as you set your goals for the year put first those things which will enrich you and equip you to be a blessing for the Kingdom of God.

Today we can take a look at a few things that interfere with good time management.

Quite often because we are busy, tired or just plain lazy we put off doing things we should be doing in favour of those activities which are less stressful and less important. The result of this is that we never get anything done and we never make any good progress in life. As a student often I would put off studying because there was always something less ‘’challenging’’ to do. Very often my report card would read ‘’He only strives for the minimum, he needs to put more effort in his studies’’

The dictionary defines procrastination as a type of avoidance behavior which is characterized by deferment of actions or tasks to a later time. In other words we put off till tomorrow what we can do today. The bible often tells us of how those who procrastinate or put off run a very big risk of losing out on what God has reserved for his children.  In Matthew 8:21 we see how a man wanted to follow Jesus but wanted to put it off because he had other things to do. He had to go and bury his father In Luke 14: 15-24 Jesus tells a parable of a great man who prepared a feast and invited some friends. How ever many deferred because they had something else to do. One said he had bought a piece of ground; another had bought five oxen etc. The conclusion is that they missed out be cause they procrastinated.

I have narrowed the causes of procrastination to 3

• The activity is unpleasant or not enjoyable
• The activity is overwhelming (Like studying)
• LAZINESS

Here are a few hints on how one may overcome procrastination.

1. Know when you are procrastinating. For example when you:
• start a high-priority task, and almost immediately going off to make a cup of tea, check your sms ;
• Leaving an item on your To Do list for a long time or till the last minute, even though you know it's important; (studying for an exam the night before)
• Regularly saying "Yes" to unimportant tasks that others ask you to do, and filling your time with these instead of getting on with the important tasks already on your list
2. Remind your self of the unpleasant consequences of NOT doing something
3. Have some one check up on you
4. Break down huge tasks in to smaller activities
5. Start slow and ease your way into more involving activities
6. Reward yourself for accomplishing certain important activities

This afternoon we heard some wonderful testimonies from the youth. It's so clear that the Lord has a very special plan and that He wants to form and prepare all of them for what is ahead...

Before coming to camp, I had drifted away from God. I realised that I needed to put order in my life, to open up to people and not to hide. I'm a pastor's son and I've felt as though people were always looking up to me because of this, and it was a burden for me. But now I just want to be an example for others

I'm very happy to be at this convention with my brothers and sisters. The Lord has really spoken to my heart during this time. I thank the Lord for everything he's done in my life and what He is going to do. I know Jesus has a plan for me and I want to serve Him with all my heart! I want to say a big thank you to CTMI for this convention. God bless you!

This afternoon we went to Cité La Chaux in Mahebourg. We stopped near a supermarket and decided to practice our skit as we weren't very prepared. As soon as we started to rehearse people began gathering round us to watch what we were doing. We jumped at the opportunity and shared the gospel with them right then and there. As unprepared as we were, we threw ourselves into it and we could feel the Lord guiding us and giving us the words to share with the crowd. At the end of the day, it was a team effort and everyone participated. There was such a great atmosphere and we had lots of fun on the bus on the way home. We met a lot of people who we'll go back and visit tomorrow. It was a super way to end the day!

I know that there is a call on my life, and that I need to take this seriously. I realise that I can't walk with the Lord and still allow compromise to creep in. There is a clear decision in my heart today to be completely separated from the world and to give my life completely to serve God.

The workshops were a foundation for all young people who desire to serve the Lord and follow His call. They addressed specific issues that are relevant to all young people and that many of us struggle with in one way or another; relationships, friendships, marriage decisions, worldly temptations etc. It was so encouraging to feel God's heart for us and to know that He has the perfect plan and the best for our lives.

I'm the eldest child in my family and I see how I have a responsibility to be an example for my younger brother and sister, who look up to me and are influenced by the way I behave. I definitely want to be more of a testimony to them in the way that I serve at home and in my attitude towards serving others

We heard today about having discernment in our relationships. I have friends who are not Christians and there are times when I'm with them and they're saying things that I don't agree with but I keep quiet. I realise that I need to be clear in my own heart and also with them, about where I stand. By not speaking up, or not acting on my convictions, I'm as good as agreeing with what they're saying. I want my life to be clear no matter what situation I find myself in.

I was so challenged by what Audrey shared in her workshop. She spoke about a servant's heart and I realise that there's another step I need to take in my walk with the Lord. I really want this servants heart to grow in me in this coming year, and to serve the Lord in another dimension.

"It's amazing to preach the gospel out on the streets to strangers, but at the same time we see how our own youth are themselves touched and confronted when they hear the Word of God and they witness the seriousness of what we're doing out there. We had some excellent contact with the local people, and a rather unexpected outcome as the young people in our group were deeply touched by the gospel - many repented and we trust the Lord for great things ahead..."

All good things come to an end! We assemble for a last time of praise and worship before packing up and heading home. We've had a wonderful time. There is a clear decision in our hearts to be sold out for Jesus! May the Lord be with us and protect us as we return to school / university / work. We know His grace will be with us as we take a stand and shine for Him. Thank you to EVERYONE who gave their lives to cook, clean, coordinate, etc. Goodnight everyone!
